Vail Resorts Names Timothy April Chief Information Officer

Vail Resorts, Inc. today announced that Timothy April, currently Vice President of Information Technology and Guest Experience, has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, effective Oct. 29, 2018. April will join the Vail Resorts Executive Committee and oversee all facets of technology for the Company, including innovative enhancements to the guest experience and best-in-class systems throughout the Company’s operations. April replaces Robert Urwiler, who is retiring after 12 years with Vail Resorts.

Vail Resorts Closes Its Acquisition of Stevens Pass Resort in Washington

Vail Resorts today announced that the Company has closed on its acquisition of Stevens Pass Resort in Washington from Ski Resort Holdings, LLC, an affiliate of Oz Real Estate. The final purchase price, after adjustments for certain agreed-upon terms, was $64 million. Less than 85 miles from Seattle and renowned for its plentiful snowfall, the resort sits on the crest of the Cascade Range within two national forests – the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest on the west side, and the Wenatchee National Forest on the east.

(NYSE: MTN) today introduced Emma, your Epic Mountain Assistant, the world’s first digital mountain assistant to help guide guests while on their ski and snowboard vacation at nine of the Company’s resorts. Emma is an interactive mountain assistant who uses artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP) to answer a wide range of guests’ questions about their ski vacation. Mt. Brighton Extends the 2017-18 Season and Rolls Back Prices on March 18

Mt. Brighton will extend the 2017-18 ski and snowboard season, staying open – at least – through Sunday, March 18. The ski area is also rolling back prices for first-time skiers and snowboarders on March 18, where ten bucks will get guests on-hill access (normally $52 to $57), a lesson ($48 to $75) and ski or snowboard rental ($28) from 2-4 p.m. – all to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Vail Resorts’ Epic Pass.
