Anyone who has visited Mount Sunapee knows it’s a very special place. It’s familiar, it’s warm, (even on a cold winter’s day) and it’s a place where everyone in the family has fun. “Sunapee,” an Algonquian Indian word meaning “Goose Lake,” is the largest ski area closest to Boston, and is a place that has been known to give people goosebumps.

A big-mountain experience close to home
Mount Sunapee is conveniently located in southern New Hampshire, close to two major interstate highways, and easily accessible from Boston. With a summit elevation of 2,743 feet and a vertical drop of 1,510 feet, the mountain offers 66 trails and slopes that make up 233 acres of skiable terrain. Ten lifts include three quads (two high-speed), two triples, one double and four surface lifts. While the resort receives an average snowfall of 130 inches, snowmaking, covering 97 percent of terrain, plays an important role in providing top-rated snow surface conditions.
