Heavenly and Northstar Now Open for 2020-21 Winter Season
Heavenly Mountain Resort and Northstar California Resort kicked off a successful start to the 2020-21 ski and ride season today. With a winter operating plan focused on comprehensive safety protocols, they were the first two Tahoe area ski resorts to open.

Heavenly and Northstar are set to open on Nov. 20, Kirkwood is scheduled to open on Dec. 4, weather and conditions permitting.

Snowmaking begins in Tahoe, Opening Days set for Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood
Cold temperatures and dry air have created ideal conditions for making snow in the Lake Tahoe Basin. Heavenly Mountain Ski Resort, Northstar California Resort and Kirkwood Mountain Resort all plan to take advantage of this week’s cool weather window to build a solid base for the upcoming 2020-21 winter season.

Northstar California Resort to Open Additional Activities, Including Bike Park, for Summer Operations with Commitment to Employee and Guest Safety
Northstar California Resort today announced additional summer activities to open early July. Scenic lift rides on Big Springs Gondola, hiking access, and grab n’ go food and drink options from the Lodge at Big Springs will open on July 3. The Northstar Bike Park will open with select trails on July 10. Riders are encouraged to pre-purchase a season bike haul pass or day tickets to access a range of beginner to expert rated trails via the Big Springs Gondola and the Zephyr Express chairlift. The Northstar Golf Course will open July 15.

Heavenly Mountain Resort and Northstar California Resort today announced they will open for select summer activities in July. Kirkwood Mountain Resort will have human-powered activities (no lift access) available to guests, similar as years past. The resorts shared operating plans as well as their commitment to safety amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
